On the front page a nice-snouted little pig stands out and they surely could not find a better spokesperson for a guide dedicated to Emilia’s restaurants and tastes.
The guide, called “Ristoranti e Delicatessen dell’Emilia” (192 pages, 13€) and published by Smarti, has the goal to make people “discover a territory through its tastes”.
The guide is divided by provinces.
Among the standard-bearers of our territory in the book, you will find starred locals such as “Parizzi” in Parma and “Stella d’Oro” in Soragna but there are also places not yet awarded though very popular.
Among these is the” Podere San Faustino” in Fidenza, or the trattoria “Da Mussi” in the Caboara di Compiano where you can taste the flavours of the highlands particularly game and mushrooms.
Among the other quoted restaurants: “Antichi Sapori” in Gaione, “Nonna Bianca” in Trecasali and the “Locanda del Gelso bianco” in Viazzano.
For each local an ample dossier gives the chance to understand the place and the owner’s style and cooking philosophy.
Also worth a visit, the starred “Ca’ Matilde” in Rubbianino di Quattro Castella, “La Piana” in Poviglio and the “Prater” in Sant’Ilario. At the other side of the city, towards Piacenza, you can find the classic and stylish “La Fiaschetteria”.
